Senior finance thinking, sized to your stage
Growth changes the questions. It is no longer only whether the books are right, but whether you can fund the next hire, which customers actually make money, how long the cash lasts if a contract slips, and what the bank or an investor will ask to see. Most growing companies reach that point long before they can justify a full-time chief financial officer, and the owner ends up making those calls on instinct.
Smartgic gives you a part-time CFO who works from your real numbers. We build the budget and a rolling cash flow forecast, set up KPI dashboards and board reporting, model pricing, margins and funding scenarios, and support your relationship with the bank. When you raise money or sell, we prepare the financial model and data room and handle due-diligence questions — and we coordinate VAT and corporate tax planning with the specialists who file for you.

What you gain with CFO Services
The practical difference when the work is planned and filed properly the first time.
Cash You Can See Ahead
A rolling cash flow forecast shows pinch points early, so you can chase receivables, delay spend or arrange facilities before it is urgent.
Budgets That Get Used
Your annual budget is built with your managers and compared with actuals every month, so variances turn into decisions rather than surprises.
Margins and Pricing Understood
We analyse profitability by product, customer and channel, and test pricing changes before you announce them to the market.
Clear Board Reporting
Board and shareholder packs set out KPIs, commentary and the decisions required, and arrive in time for each meeting.
Stronger Bank Relationships
Lenders get forecasts, covenant calculations and answers from someone who speaks their language, which makes facility requests and renewals easier.
Ready for Investors and Buyers
Financial models, data rooms and due-diligence answers are prepared from reconciled numbers, so the story holds up when it is tested.
A clear process, step by step
One adviser owns your file from first call to completion, and you always know which step you are on.

CFO Services questions
Straight answers to what clients ask us most. If yours is not here, ask us directly.
Where an accountant reports what happened, a CFO uses those numbers to plan what happens next. In practice that means budgets and cash flow forecasts, KPI dashboards and board reporting, pricing and margin analysis, financial models for funding, and managing relationships with banks and investors — delivered for a set number of days or hours each month rather than as a full-time hire.
It is agreed around your needs — typically a set allocation each month, with more time around year-end, a funding round or a bank renewal. Most engagements include a monthly review meeting and availability between meetings for urgent questions. We review the allocation each quarter so you are not paying for time you do not use.
No. The CFO can work with your existing accountant or in-house team, provided the monthly figures are reliable. If they are not, fixing the close comes first — either by strengthening your team’s process or by moving the bookkeeping to us — because forecasts and board reports built on unreconciled numbers do more harm than good.
Yes, on the finance side. We build the financial model and forecasts, prepare the information pack and data room, calculate covenants and answer the financial questions in due diligence. Funding decisions and terms are always the lender’s or investor’s, and the legal documents are handled by your lawyers.
The CFO looks at tax as part of planning: the effect of corporate tax on cash flow, whether a relief or the free zone regime could apply, how group structures and transfer pricing affect the numbers, and when VAT falls due. Detailed tax advice and filings are coordinated with the tax team or your own adviser, so decisions and filings stay consistent.
Usually when finance decisions need daily senior attention — a large team to lead, several entities, frequent funding activity or complex operations. Until then, a part-time CFO covers the strategic work without a full-time role. When you do hire, we help define the role and hand over the models, processes and history.
