Accounts you can file, defend and decide with
Since corporate tax arrived, your accounting profit is the starting point for the tax you pay, and your ledgers feed every VAT return. The Corporate Tax Law requires records to be kept for at least seven years, many free zones ask for audited accounts at renewal, and banks want recent figures before they lend. Books that are only tidied once a year cannot carry that load: errors surface at the deadline, when they are hardest to fix.
Smartgic runs the full accounting cycle for you. A named accountant sets up your chart of accounts, closes each month with bank, receivable and payable reconciliations, codes VAT correctly at source and sends you management accounts you can read. At year-end we prepare IFRS financial statements, the schedules your auditor will ask for and the corporate tax computation — so the return, the audit and your own decisions all rest on the same reviewed numbers.

What you gain with Accounting Services
The practical difference when the work is planned and filed properly the first time.
Reviewed, Not Just Recorded
Every month is checked by your accountant for misposted items, missing invoices and unusual balances before the period is closed.
Ledgers Built for VAT
Output and input VAT are coded at source, so your quarterly or monthly VAT return is drawn straight from reconciled ledgers.
Management Accounts Monthly
A profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position each month, with short commentary on what moved and why.
Receivables and Payables Tracked
Customer balances are aged and flagged for follow-up, and supplier bills are scheduled so you pay on time and no more than once.
Year-End Without Surprises
IFRS financial statements, notes and audit schedules are prepared from books that have already been reconciled month by month.
Tax-Ready Figures
We prepare the corporate tax computation from your accounts, adjusting for non-deductible items, so the return starts from figures that already reconcile.
A clear process, step by step
One adviser owns your file from first call to completion, and you always know which step you are on.
- 01
Onboarding & Chart of Accounts
We review your activity, licence and existing records, then set up or tidy the chart of accounts, VAT codes and opening balances on your accounting software.
- 02
Monthly Processing
You share invoices, receipts and bank statements or a read-only bank feed; we record transactions, match them to the bank and keep receivables and payables current.
- 03
Month-End Close & Review
Your accountant runs the reconciliations, posts accruals, prepayments and depreciation, reviews the results and sends management accounts with notes on anything that needs your decision.
- 04
Year-End Statements
After the financial year closes we prepare IFRS financial statements, the schedules and reconciliations an auditor will request, and the closing entries agreed with you.
- 05
Corporate Tax Computation
We convert accounting profit into taxable income for your corporate tax return — which must be filed within 9 months of the end of the tax period — with a clear audit trail.

Accounting Services questions
Straight answers to what clients ask us most. If yours is not here, ask us directly.
Bookkeeping records and reconciles the transactions. Accounting adds the layer above it: reviewing the entries, posting month-end adjustments such as accruals and depreciation, producing management accounts, and preparing year-end IFRS statements and the corporate tax computation. Many small companies start with bookkeeping and move to full accounting when VAT, corporate tax or an audit makes reviewed figures necessary.
Yes. Your file is assigned to a named accountant who runs the monthly close, prepares the year-end and is your point of contact for questions. You are not passed between whoever happens to be free, and the person reviewing your management accounts is the one who knows your business and its history.
We prepare the corporate tax computation as part of the year-end, adjusting accounting profit for items the Corporate Tax Law treats differently. Filing is a separate step: we can prepare and submit the return through your EmaraTax account under our corporate tax filing service, or hand the computation to your own tax adviser.
No — and that is a rule, not a preference. The auditor must be independent of whoever keeps the books. If we keep your accounts, the audit is carried out and signed by UAE-registered auditors who have had no part in preparing them; we prepare the audit file and manage the engagement and the auditor’s questions.
Monthly is the default, once the month has been closed and reconciled. Some businesses prefer quarterly reporting aligned with their VAT periods; others want closer cash updates during busy seasons. We agree the pack, the format and the timing at onboarding, and adjust it as the business grows.
Yes. We first bring the records up to date under a separate catch-up scope, reconciling each month from bank statements and source documents, and flag any VAT or corporate tax corrections that may need a voluntary disclosure. Once the backlog is cleared, regular monthly accounting starts from a clean, reconciled opening position.
